Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Corporation locale de developpement de Sainte-Monique Receives Funding From Government of Canada

SAINTE-MONIQUE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 30, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that the Corporation locale de développement de Sainte-Monique (Code-SM), has been granted financial assistance for the rehabilitation of two community infrastructure facilities.

"By funding this project to renovate the recreation centre and the municipal skating rink, our Government is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Lebel.

This support will be used to restore the recreation centre, which will include insulating the building, replacing its exterior siding and windows as well as consolidating and damp proofing the foundations. As for the municipality's skating rink, the work primarily involves replacing the rink boards and players' boxes and construction of a concrete rink slab and a permanent shelter.

Information:

This funding, granted in the form of a $500,000 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
