Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Government of Canada Funds Club de l'age d'or de Mistassini, in Roberval Sector

DOLBEAU-MISTASSINI, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 15, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, announces that the Club de l'âge d'or de Mistassini, Roberval sector, has been granted financial assistance to renovate a building housing several community organizations.

"By funding the project of the Club de l'âge d'or de Mistassini, Roberval sector, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Lebel.

The work, which involves upgrading the electricity and ventilation systems and installing a manlift, are aimed at improving access to the building and providing a safe environment for the one thousand people who visit the golden age club every week.

"Our Government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded Minister Lebel.


This assistance, granted in the form of a $208,000 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
