HÉBERTVILLE-STATION, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 21, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that the municipality of Hébertville-Station has been granted financial assistance for the renovation of its community centre.
"By supporting this project for the Hébertville-Station community centre, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Lebel.
The project mainly involves expanding the community centre building, repairing the roof and youth hall entrance, and upgrading the plumbing system. These improvements are part of a larger initiative aimed at making the centre a more accessible gathering place for the community.
This assistance, granted in the form of a $162,956 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).
The CIIF has a nationwide budget of a $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
