SAINT-LAZARE-DE-BELLECHASSE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 13, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse and Les Etchemins and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, today announced that the non-profit organization Les Loisirs de Saint-Lazare-de-Bellechasse Inc. has been granted funding for the renovation of the municipality's community centre.

"By supporting this project of Les Loisirs de Saint-Lazare-de-Bellechasse, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Blaney.

The funding from Canada Economic Development will allow Les Loisirs de Saint-Lazare-de-Bellechasse to proceed with the repair of the community centre roof in order to ensure the infrastructure's sustainability for many more years to come.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $16,308 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
