Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to the Corporation de développement communautaire de Saint-Aubert

SAINT-AUBERT, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 13, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, today announced that the Corporation de développement communautaire de Saint-Aubert has been granted funding to modernize its community recreational infrastructure.

"By supporting the rehabilitation of Saint-Aubert's recreational facilities, our Government is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Mr. Gourde.

The project of the Corporation de développement communautaire de Saint-Aubert involves carrying out improvements to the municipality's sports surfaces and enhancing and expanding the main building. In so doing, Saint-Aubert is hoping to offer the population more attractive community recreational infrastructure and thereby increase use of these facilities.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $104,050 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
