Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Government of Canada Lends Support to Corporation Loisirs & Sports Ste-Claire Inc.


SAINTE-CLAIRE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 30, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse, today announced that Corporation Loisirs & Sports Ste-Claire Inc. has been granted financial assistance from the federal government to improve its community infrastructure.

"By funding the renovation project of Corporation Loisirs et Sports Sainte-Claire, our government is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Blaney.

The project involves modernizing the community centre in the municipality of Sainte-Claire to make it better adapted to current user needs. The work will include renovating and expanding the community halls and replacing the flooring in the building's entranceway.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $71,738 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
