Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund-Government of Canada Supports Community Infrastructure Modernization Project in Saint-Ludger-de-Milot

SAINT-LUDGER-DE-MILOT, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 22, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that the municipality of Saint-Ludger-de-Milot has been granted funding to upgrade a community infrastructure.

"In supporting this renovation project, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Lebel.

The contribution from Canada Economic Development will allow the municipality to carry out major renovation work on the municipal building that houses community halls used by many local non-profit organizations. The project mainly involves replacing the windows and exterior siding, upgrading the insulation and ventilation system, and renovating the building's interior.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $215,117 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of a $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
