Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund-Government of Canada Supports Modernization of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce Municipal Park


SAINT-JOSEPH-DE-BEAUCE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 13, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Member of Parliament for Beauce and Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture), today announced the awarding of funding for the renovation of the outdoor tennis courts and service building in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce municipal park, in the Robert-Cliche RCM.

"By supporting the rehabilitation of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce municipal park, our government is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Bernier.

The city's project involves modernizing the municipal infrastructure in order to improve the quality and safety of the facilities, strengthen the recreational service offering and increase usership of the park.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $75,731 non-repayable financial contribution, was awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
