Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund-Government of Canada Supports O.T.J. de Saint-Alfred, Beauce


SAINT-ALFRED, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 19, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture) today announced that the O.T.J. de Saint-Alfred, Beauce has been granted financial assistance for the modernization of community sport facilities.

"The Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund will benefit families immediately by creating safe and accessible community infrastructure facilities for years to come."

The O.T.J. de Saint-Alfred, Beauce will use this funding to renovate and upgrade the outdoor municipal skating rink by adding a multipurpose surface. The planned work includes the construction of a concrete slab and the installation of aluminium bleachers, fiberglass or aluminium boards, fencing, new goals and an electronic scoreboard.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $78,275 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
