Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Government of Canada Supports Upgrade of Club nautique de Roberval Facilities


ROBERVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 15, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced that Club nautique Roberval Inc. has been granted funding for infrastructure improvements.

"By supporting this modernization project of Club nautique de Roberval, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Lebel.

The nautical club will carry out various works aimed at adding another 40 new berths to the marina, bringing the total to 170, in order to enhance public access to its facilities. The organization also intends to build a gangway to the dock, improve the electrical installations and acquire new equipment that complies with current safety and efficiency standards for the masting and demasting of sailboats measuring more than 45 feet.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $256,750 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of a $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
