Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Le Club Lions Laurier Saint-Flavien Inc. Receives Funding from Government of Canada

SAINT-FLAVIEN, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 12, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, has announced that Club Lions Laurier Saint-Flavien Inc. has been granted financial assistance to improve its facilities.

"By supporting the Laurier Saint-Flavien Lions Club project, the Government of Canada is delivering on its commitment to improve the quality of life in our communities," said MP Gourde.

This funding will enable Lions Club Laurier Saint-Flavien Inc. to install a generator in its community hall so that it can offer safe refuge to up to 300 people in the event of fire or other emergency.

"Our Government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded MP Gourde.

Information:

This financial assistance, granted in the form of a $13,500 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure. The 2nd call for proposals is currently open; interested organizations may submit their proposals until April 30, 2013.
