Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Ligue des proprietaires de Vauvert Inc. Renovates its Building With Financial Assistance From Government of Canada

DOLBEAU-MISTASSINI, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 15, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, today announces that Ligue des propriétaires de Vauvert Inc., a property owners league, has been granted financial assistance to upgrade the building of the Vauvert Notre-Dame chapel inaugurated today.

"By supporting the project of Ligue des propriétaires de Vauvert Inc., the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Lebel.

The project involved modernizing the Vauvert Notre-Dame Chapel building made available to the community in the Vauvert sector of Dolbeau-Mistassini and surrounding area. The property owners league used the funding to renovate the chapel's flooring, which improved insulation, allowing for activities to be held there even in winter.

"Our Government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded Minister Lebel.

Information:

This assistance, granted in the form of a $23,448 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
