Compellent Fluid Data Storage Named Top Midrange Storage Array in Storage Magazine Quality Awards

End-Users Rate Compellent Highest in All Five Judging Categories; 100 Percent of Respondents Would Purchase Compellent Again

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN--(Marketwire - September 9, 2010) -  After receiving the highest scores from end-users across all judging categories, Compellent (NYSE: CML) was honored as the top midrange storage array in the Storage magazine Quality Award program. Compellent Fluid Data storage received the highest scores in all judging categories, consistently outpacing competitors such as NetApp, EMC, IBM, Hitachi and Oracle (Sun). An outstanding 100 percent of Compellent customers surveyed said they would purchase Compellent Fluid Data storage again.

According to the survey, the results of which are outlined in the article, "Quality Awards V: Compellent regains top midrange arrays spot," Compellent received its highest scores in the product reliability, product features, initial product quality and technical support categories.

"Enterprises require a storage foundation that can scale as data needs grow, reduce costs, simplify IT management and seamlessly integrate virtualization platforms as they build their cloud services," said Phil Soran, president and CEO of Compellent. "This Quality Award from Storage magazine proves that Compellent Fluid Data is the easily managed core for virtual and cloud data centers, and to win in every single category, as well as to be recognized like this by our end-users, is a tremendous honor."

The Storage magazine Quality Awards are designed to identify and recognize products that have proven their quality and reliability in actual use. A total of 315 respondents provided 497 midrange storage array evaluations. The goal of the awards program is to identify the most reliable IT products on the market by the organizations that use them. Results are derived from a survey of qualified readers who assess products in five main categories: product reliability, technical support, product features, initial product quality and sales-force competence, on a scale of 1.00 to 8.00.

"Compellent's win was earned with a consistent performance, garnering the top scores in all five of our rating categories -- sales-force competence, initial product quality, product features, product reliability and technical support. With a record overall score of 7.12 for midrange systems, Compellent Technologies has regained the crown," wrote Rich Castagna, editorial director of TechTarget's Storage Media Group.
