Complete Discovery Source, Inc. (CDS) Launches E-Discovery Webinar Series

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 21, 2011) - CDS announced today that it will be launching its 2011 webinar series addressing pressing issues in electronic discovery this month. The first presentation, about international e-discovery, Crossing the Electronic Ocean – How to Successfully Navigate Non-U.S. Data Privacy and Data Protection Statues, will be held Thursday, March 24th at 10 am EDT. This complimentary presentation is open to eDiscovery professionals from law firms and corporate legal departments.

The one hour Q&A session with Kenneth N. Rashbaum, Esq. will be moderated by Matthew F. Knouff, Esq., General Counsel of CDS. CDS selected this subject for the kick-off event because discovery of non-U.S. data is a critical issue in today's global business environment.

Digital information is the primary form of evidence needed for dispute settlement throughout the world. But in terms of privacy and data protection beyond U.S. borders, the governing laws and regulations are decidedly different from those in the United States. This can affect a company's ability to obtain data needed for litigation, responses to regulators and business processes.

"The DOJ has announced that it will be aggressively pursuing international bribery violations," said Mr. Knouff. "Multi-national corporations will need access to their non-U.S. data to defend themselves; however, much of that data is not easily available because it is classified as private information. We will offer practical steps to guide attorneys as they navigate these new waters."

Kenneth N. Rashbaum, Esq. is a principal of Rashbaum Associates, LLC. He counsels multinational corporations on privacy laws and regulations in Europe, Asia, Canada, and South America.

Matthew F. Knouff, Esq. is General Counsel of CDS. He is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production as well as the Board of Directors for the New York County Lawyers' Assoc., Cyberspace Law Section.
