Complete renovation of tennis courts in the town of Clermont with support from the Government of Canada

The Club de tennis l'Envol de Clermont initiative will provide the entire community with a safe, improved sports facility

CLERMONT, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 17, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Key community stakeholders have long been looking for a tangible and sustainable way to improve community and sports infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to support projects like this one from the Club de tennis l'Envol de Clermont, which contribute to the vitality and dynamism of all regions in the country.

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the Club de tennis l'Envol de Clermont has been granted $43,290 for the renovation of two tennis courts.

Created in 2005, the Club de tennis l'Envol de Clermont is a non-profit organization that manages the town's tennis activities. In particular, it is responsible for hiring seasonal staff and coordinating annual tennis tournaments. The coating on the tennis courts is outdated, having been applied in 1998. The project will provide Clermont residents with safe, improved tennis courts for their enjoyment.

The non-repayable contribution under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) will be used to renovate two tennis courts by replacing the synthetic surface.
