FILM COMPOSER & Nickel Creek Collaborator in Toronto for Fest! RED CARPET - Friday, September 16 @ 9:30 pm Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Assignment Editor, City Editor, Lifestyle Editor, News Editor HOLLYWOOD, CA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 16, 2005) - Composer John Frizzell has scored "Mrs. Harris," which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 16 at 9:30 pm at the Roy Thomson Hall. Written and directed by playwright Phyllis Nagy and starring Ben Kingsley and Annette Bening, the film tells the story behind the sensational 1980s media event, in which famed cardiologist Herman Tarnower meets a particularly brutal end at the hands of his jilted lover, Jean Harris. Frizzell's score will set a dramatic tone for the thriller.

"Mrs. Harris" is a dramatic turn for the composer, who recently completed work on "The Prizewinner of Defiance, Ohio," another true story, starring Julianne Moore as the mother of ten who, in the 1950s, supported her family by writing jingles and entering them into contests. For that score, Frizzell teamed up with newgrass band Nickel Creek, whose latest album hit number one on Billboard's Internet Sales and Independent Album charts.

This fall will also see the release of "The Woods," a suspense thriller also featuring a Frizzell score. His work will further be heard over the airwaves as "Reunion" premieres on Fox.

Frizzell is known for using a colorful array of instruments for his scores, from a psaltery (an ancient harp-type instrument) to African drums. He has written scores for a variety of genres, and has proven his musical talent and versatility.

John Frizzell's credits range from comedies such as "Beavis and Butthead Do America" and the cult classic "Office Space," to the dark comedy "Teaching Mrs. Tingle" and the sci-fi drama "Alien Resurrection." Recent credits include the adapted Neil Simon comedy "The Goodbye Girl," the Civil War drama "Gods and Generals," and urban actioner "Cradle 2 the Grave."
