Comptel and Axtel to Discuss Achieving Greater Operational and Business Agility With OSS Consolidation

Case Study Presentation to Showcase the Mexican Communications Service Provider's Successful, Multi-Phase IT Transformation Project

HELSINKI, FINLAND--(Marketwire - November 2, 2010) -  Comptel Corporation (NASDAQ OMX Helsinki: CTL1V), the leading vendor of dynamic Operations Support System (OSS) software, and Mexican communications service provider (CSP) Axtel will explain how operators can achieve greater operational and business agility with OSS consolidation at TM Forum's Management World Americas, taking place 9-11 November in Orlando, Florida at the Rosen Shingle Creek.

Comptel CTO Gareth Senior and Axtel IT billing director Emilio Rodriguez will present a case study on Tuesday, 9 November from 3-3:30 p.m. in the Operational Excellence Summit's Back Office Simplification track. The speakers will explore Axtel's multi-phase OSS consolidation project, and explain how it was critical in enabling the CSP to roll out WiMAX and other next-generation network technologies and introduce new services to its customers.

Key Takeaways

  • The presentation will address the challenges, including the management of multiple, legacy mediation systems, Axtel faced following its acquisition of Avantel in 2006. Mr. Senior and Mr. Rodriguez will discuss how an OSS consolidation project down to a single, convergent mediation platform enabled the Mexican CSP to achieve significant, operational efficiencies and cost-savings.

  • Session attendees will learn about new, intelligent approaches to mediation and charging during this Management World Americas session. Comptel and Axtel will also explain how OSS consolidation can make a difference to CSPs' businesses and operations, and offer proven best practices for such IT transformation initiatives.
