ComRent Leads the Way in 2011 for Load Bank Rental Solutions

Strong Demand in Data Center, Alternative Energy, Industrial, Mining, and Utility Markets Predicted for 2012

OWINGS, MD--(Marketwire - Feb 15, 2012) - ComRent, the leading provider of load bank rental solutions and services in North America for testing mission-critical power systems, today announced the completion of the strongest year in the company's 14-year history, with record sales revenue, new locations and new service offerings. In 2011, the company conducted the largest load bank commissioning project in North America, was prominently positioned on the Inc. 5000 for the fifth consecutive year, and expanded its sales, service and distribution centers to include a Brazil location.

"Our record-breaking year is a direct result of ComRent's commitment to meet our customers' power challenges and to keep their commissioning and testing projects on schedule and on-budget," noted Clayton Taylor, CEO of ComRent. "Our customers cannot afford power, cooling or backup power generation failure -- too much is at stake."

Recapping a Successful 2011

  • Setting the Record: 40MW Keeps Mining Project Growing
ComRent's load banks, including a fleet of CR922 -- the industry's only transportable, medium-voltage load bank -- set a new North American record in 2011 with the successful commissioning of a high-performance 40MW natural gas turbine generator for a large copper mine project in Arizona. The copper mining and smelting facility is a multi-million dollar endeavor, generating nearly $1,000,000 in revenue per day, and employing hundreds of local workers. Uptime for a project of this scope is vital, as a power outage can result in the complete halt of operations. ComRent provided 40MW of resistive load -- enough energy to power over 4,000 households, in order to validate the generating capacity and verify the emissions standards compliance of the turbine generator.

  • CRLS 11.5: Simplifying Data Center Room Validation Process
The CRLS 11.5 rack-mounted load bank, during data center commissioning, provides the ability to conduct a more accurate room validation test, compared to using floor standing load banks for testing Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) and Chiller System capacity and room temperature.

  • Inc. 5000: Five Years and Counting
For the fifth consecutive year, Inc. magazine named ComRent to its annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Ranked this year at No. 2683, with a three-year growth rate of 84 percent, ComRent joined other breakout companies in 2011 such as Spirit Airlines, television maker Vizio, Honest Tea and Dunkin Donuts, among other prominent brands featured on this year's list.

  • Extending its Reach: ComRent Increases Global Presence
In 2011, the company achieved a mission to augment its distribution strategy by opening five new locations, including a load bank rental and service center in São Paolo, Brazil, in partnership with Poit Energia. ComRent provided its first load banks for tests in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in 2011, delivering on its promise to serve the region through a new joint venture with Power Engineering called ComRent Middle East. ComRent also opened facilities in Montreal, Quebec and Calgary, Alberta Canada. Through 18 its strategically located centers in North America, Latin America and the Middle East, ComRent supported over 4,500 low and medium voltage load tests across a wide spectrum of mission critical markets including Data Centers, Utilities, Maritime, Healthcare and Renewable Energy.
