MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 8, 2013) - CES LAS VEGAS - Sigma Designs® (NASDAQ: SIGM), a leading provider of system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for home entertainment, connectivity and control, today announced advanced networking supplier Comtrend has selected Sigma Designs' new G.hn CG5200 family of chipsets for its PowerGrid 9051s Powerline Ethernet Adapter. The CG5200 enables a complete self-install home entertainment network for the distribution of Triple Play and IPTV over existing in-home powerline, coax and phone line wires. Complying with the latest G.hn MIMO standard, the CG5200 improves coverage and throughput over powerline even through surge protected power strips and multiple phases.

Comtrend's PowerGrid 9051s with CG5200 is a perfect solution for carrier grade self-installable in-home distribution of rich content over a powerline grid. The PowerGrid 9051s comes pre-configured for plug-and-play home networking and it features high throughput, support for network and device level QoS, advanced encryption algorithms for safeguarding the network integrity, and remote management capabilities complying with TR069.
