Con Edison 50+ Year Employees Gather During Heat Wave

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 12, 2008) - Please see the attached photo. Caption reads: Twelve of Con Edison's 16 employees with 50 or more years of service gathered in the company headquarters Edison Room during the recent heat wave, when customers set a June peak electric use record. From left: James Connolly, Robert Sullivan, William Penninipede, Carl Williams, Vincent Gerecitano, Lee Romero, George Golovchenko, Edward Savage, Frederick Simms, Dolores Coote, Edward Fitzgerald, and John McGregor. Savage, the group's dean, started at Con Edison on October 4, 1951, the day after Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard Round the World." Romero and Coote also began working for Con Edison while Harry Truman was president.
