Concert Highlights Need to Protect St. Lawrence River & Great Lakes

Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Environment Editor, News Editor MONTREAL--(Marketwire - Nov. 17, 2008) - Great Lakes United is teaming with Aquamuzic to offer a cabaret-style concert in support of efforts to clean up the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River.

"We're really excited to be working with Aquamuzic on this project," said Derek Stack, Executive Director of Great Lakes United. "Whether or not Montrealers realize it, their health and the health of their city is tied directly to the health of the St. Lawrence River. This concert is a chance to have a fun night out, while knowing that you're helping protect one of Montreal's defining features."

The event will be hosted by award winning actor and DJ Larry Day, and will feature the music of acclaimed Elvis impersonator Schmelvis (aka Dan Hartal). Also featured on the bill are Paula Davis, the On the Spot Improvisational Troup, and guitar virtuoso, Nic MC.

The concert will be held at Bourbon Street West, located at 1866 Sources Blvd in Point Claire on Sunday, December 21. Advanced tickets are available online at, and cost $30. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $60. All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Great Lakes United (
