Conductor Launches Non-Profit Foundation to Help New York Charities Improve Web Presence and Fundraising Efforts Through Natural Search

Housing Works Becomes the First Organization to Receive Searchlight Grant

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 17, 2011) - Conductor, the leader in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) technology, today announced the launch of the Conductor Foundation, an initiative to increase the online visibility of local New York City non-profit organizations through training workshops and the Conductor Searchlight Grant, which includes SEO consultation and pro-bono use of Conductor Searchlight™ -- the industry's most widely adopted SEO platform used by many of the Fortune 500 and Internet Retailer 500 to measure, improve and manage their natural search efforts and increase site traffic.

Building on the company's long history of community involvement and volunteerism, the Conductor Foundation was established to educate and support New York City non-profit organizations in their efforts to leverage the Web as an effective cause-marketing vehicle. Conductor has selected Housing Works, an organization that provides housing, healthcare, and support services to New Yorkers living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, as the 2011 Searchlight Grant recipient. Valued at approximately $50,000 the license and training grant will help Housing Works raise awareness for its cause locally and on the national stage.

"Like most non-profits, we struggle with having enough resources and manpower to properly support all of our marketing needs including social enterprises, fundraising, program services and advocacy initiatives," said Diana Boric, VP for Marketing and Communications at Housing Works. "With access to Conductor's Searchlight platform, we're able to embrace digital marketing best practices but also automate much of the time-consuming tasks associated with SEO tracking and analysis to capture more traffic, redirect staff resources to other marketing efforts, and ultimately drive awareness and support for our mission -- to end the dual crisis of homelessness and AIDS."

Moving forward, Conductor plans to award one percent of all Searchlight licenses as grants to non-profits and one percent of all employee time will go toward the work of the foundation and to training non-profits. As part of the training curriculum, the Conductor Foundation will host a series of workshops to introduce non-profit organizations to SEO best practices to improve their online search visibility. The first workshop, "SEO 101 for Non-Profit Marketers," took place on Nov. 2, 2011 at Conductor's Union Square offices. Open to all non-profit marketers the session covered a range of topics including on-page optimization, keyword discovery, tracking and reporting as well as link building. Attendees included marketing representatives from Housing Works, Dorot, Kessler Foundation, Mo Arts and Global Good Partners.

"Social responsibility and community support is in our DNA. We are thrilled to share our expertise with those in the non-profit world so that they too can achieve the outstanding natural search results commercial organizations have experienced with Searchlight," said Seth Besmertnik, CEO of Conductor. "Housing Works is an amazing, well-respected organization and we are delighted that they are the first to receive this grant to help reach their goals and set a benchmark of success for others to follow."
