Conference to Address Educating and Licensing Future Engineers

Attention: Assignment Editor, Education Editor, News Editor, Photo Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - June 14, 2007) - On Thursday, June 21, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the body that licenses and regulates the practice of the province's 70,000 engineers, will host a special conference entitled The Future of Engineering Education and Licensure.

Join us to hear regulators, engineering educators, government officials, members of engineering societies and major employers of engineers discuss the challenges and opportunities of preparing tomorrow's engineers. John Milloy, MPP Kitchener Centre and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, is the morning's keynote speaker. The Hon. Jean Augustine, Fairness Commissioner of Ontario, will be the conference's closing keynote speaker. In between, four panels will examine the issues of Engineering Globalization, the Future of Engineering Education, Accreditation and Academic Equivalency, and Licensure Requirements.
