Connect by Hertz and Launch Partnership to Give City Dwellers the Most Convenient Way to Get From Point A to Point B

Travel Sites Integrate to Provide Visitors Comprehensive Intelligence on Transportation Options

PARK RIDGE, NJ--(Marketwire - November 17, 2010) -  Connect by Hertz (, the only global car sharing club, and HopStop (, a leading provider of pedestrian navigation and mobile transit services, are teaming up to help city dwellers get around more easily.

As part of a plan to offer more travel options to each other's service, HopStop has built easy access to hourly car rentals into its widely used navigation app that gives people fast and easy public transportation and walking directions. In addition, will provide its customers with HopStop-powered door-to-door directions to pick-up and drop-off their car at Connect by Hertz locations. The partnership, which also includes a major online and mobile advertising component to it, covers both companies operations in New York City (NY/NJ/CT), London, Paris, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

With the new service, a New Yorker looking to travel from downtown Manhattan to Nyack in Rockland County has the option to travel via subway and bus, which estimates to be a two-hour one-way trip. By clicking on the "cars by the hour" button, a HopStop user can save time by renting a car for a few hours from Connect By Hertz, and find the Connect By Hertz location that is closest to their starting point.

"Connect by Hertz is about providing mobility solutions," said Robert Stuart, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Hertz Corporation. "Partnering with HopStop enables us to further enhance our members' experience and offer unique navigational functionality, alongside existing benefits such as our exclusive NeverLost navigational system and 24/7 in-car concierge service, while offering competitive rates to a new audience."

Joe Meyer, President and CEO of HopStop, said, "We're very excited to be able to offer our users the ability to integrate car-sharing into their urban travel plans. Sometimes taking a bus or a train isn't the most convenient way to travel in-and-around a city, and we want to make sure that HopStop users know all of the potential ways to get from point A to point B."

Connect by Hertz is also offering HopStop users extra incentive to try car-sharing and join Connect by Hertz's growing membership by offering a one-year free membership in the Connect Program, plus an $80 driving credit when they join using Promotion Code 'HOPSTOP'.
