Connector Integrates Open Text's Livelink ECM Suite With the eCopy Open Platform Architecture

New Integration Enables Users to Scan Documents to Livelink From a Range of Digital Copier and Scanner Brands, Including Canon, Fujitsu, HP, Océ, Ricoh, Sharp, and Toshiba

MIAMI, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 5, 2005 -- eCopy PAPER CONNECTION FORUM -- eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, today announced the integration of Open Text™'s Livelink® ECM suite with eCopy's Open Platform Architecture. The eCopy Connector for Open Text's Livelink enables users to scan and store documents effortlessly into Livelink's repositories using a range of digital copiers and scanners, including Canon, Fujitsu, HP, Océ, Ricoh, Sharp, and Toshiba products.

The new software will provide users with walk-up access to Livelink from a range of digital copiers or scanners. A user can insert a paper document into the automatic feeder, enter the index information associated with the document, and scan and store it in the appropriate Livelink repository from the copier or scanner. Because the Connector provides native integration between Livelink and eCopy software, the user sees the Livelink user interface running on the digital copier or scanner touch screen, making it easy and intuitive to manage the lifecycle of paper documents.

"The eCopy Connector for Livelink enables organizations to use a variety of digital copiers and scanners to bring their paper and digital worlds together, and integrate paper into all of their existing business processes," said Joe McLaughlin, Senior Vice President of Global Partners at Open Text. "Storing paper documents electronically is advantageous because it provides an audit trail for good corporate governance and compliance to regulatory requirements."

The Connector provides full function integration between eCopy ShareScan OP v3.0 and Livelink. Users can scan, index, and route documents to a specific repository from the copier, improving collaboration across geographically dispersed offices by making available information that was isolated in paper-based file cabinets. In a related announcement today, eCopy unveiled eCopy ShareScan OP v3.0 and eCopy ScanStation OP v3.0. See for the announcement.

"With this new connector, there's no need to integrate Livelink with the myriad of individual digital copier or scanner brands," said Tim Corkery, senior vice president, worldwide sales at eCopy. "eCopy's Open Platform Architecture provides a fundamental change in how document scanning capabilities are delivered to ISVs' business applications. It enables eCopy ShareScan OP v3.0 to provide a corporate standard for document scanning across heterogeneous digital copier and scanner platforms."
