Connie Curran Appointed to Board of Directors of METI

SARASOTA, FL--(Marketwire - January 27, 2010) - METI, the worldwide leader in medical simulation and educational software, today announced that Connie Curran, RN, EdD., was recently appointed to its board of directors. Curran is the president of Curran Associates, a health care consulting group and was the founding executive director of C-Change, a national organization focused on the eradication of cancer, an organization that she co-chaired with Former President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush.

Throughout her distinguished career, Curran has held a variety of executive positions at various health care organizations including chief nursing officer of Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, vice president of the American Hospital Association, Dean at the Medical College of Wisconsin and was the founder, president, and CEO of CurranCare, LLC, a national management and consulting services organization.

In addition to having held faculty and administrative positions at several universities, Curran is a faculty member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a graduate of the Harvard Business School program for company owners and presidents and serves on the board of directors for Hospira, Inc., DeVry, Inc., Volcano, Inc., DePaul University and is chairman of the board of Silver Cross Hospital.

Curran is one of the most prolific scholars in the health care field with more than 200 publications and several research programs to her credit. She served as the director of two of the most comprehensive national studies on staff recruitment, retention, and labor market participation. More recently she has co-authored books on hospital-physician integration, hospital redesign and on optimized home care integration. She served as the editor of Nursing Economic$ for eighteen years.
