Construction Disputes Lawyer Joins King & Spalding's New York Office

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - February 08, 2016) - King & Spalding announced today that construction disputes lawyer David Kiefer has joined the firm's New York office as a partner with the international arbitration practice. Kiefer joins King & Spalding from Dentons, where he was a partner.

Kiefer is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice focuses on construction disputes and other matters arising from the energy and manufacturing industries. He frequently advises clients on contracts and disputes related to industrial, infrastructure and power projects. In addition, Kiefer has successfully prosecuted and defended large and complex claims before federal and state courts as well as domestic and international arbitration panels. He received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and his J.D. from George Washington University Law School.

"Both our global international arbitration practice group and our New York Office will benefit greatly from David's arrival to King & Spalding. David's expertise in construction related disputes fits perfectly with our recent and planned growth in that area," said Ed Kehoe, head of the firm's international arbitration practice. "Our construction disputes teams in Houston, Singapore, Atlanta and Abu Dhabi, are excited to work with David."

Prior to Dentons, Kiefer was a partner for seven years at Sills Cummis & Gross, and also spent three years as a deputy attorney general in the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General.

"While I had admired the firm from afar, when a client sang the praises of King & Spalding, I knew joining was the right move for me," said Kiefer. "The depth of the construction team and focus of the New York office were both compelling and convinced me that the firm was the right next step for me."
