Construction Writers Association Announces 2011-12 Board of Directors

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - May 31, 2011) - The Construction Writers Association (CWA) announced its leadership team for 2011-12: Bill Wilson, president, editorial director of Roads & Bridges magazine, Arlington Heights, IL; Marc Ramsey, first vice president, communications manager for the American Subcontractors Association, Alexandria, VA; and Tina Grady Barbaccia, second vice president, executive editor of Better Roads magazine, Des Plaines, IL. Tracie Christie became immediate past president, associate director of awards and marketing for the National Asphalt Pavement Association, Lanham, MD.

"We're pleased to have such a talented and distinguished group of professionals in construction journalism, public relations, marketing and communications as our newly elected leaders," said Susan Garritano, chair of the CWA nominating committee, 2009-10 CWA president, and national communications manager for McCarthy Building Companies Inc., St. Louis, MO.

"CWA members cite education as an important benefit of membership in CWA," Wilson said. "My goal is to broaden CWA's continuing education platform over the coming year through the introduction of webinars. We can provide our members with high value in the form of digital learning." The group's annual conference, CONNECTED, will take place October 24-25, 2011, at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX.

CWA members elected five new board directors to serve two-year terms for 2011-13: Jeri Lamerton, public relations/advertising manager for The Charles Machine Works, Perry, OK; Tim Gregorski, former editor-in-chief, Hanley Wood Business Media, Chicago, IL; Matt Jeanneret, senior vice president communications and marketing, American Road & Transportation Builders Association, Washington, DC; Nathan Petrillo, senior program manager, Potomac Communications Group, Washington, DC; and Amber Santor, trade press relations, Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, IL.

They join five other directors who will serve the remaining year of their two-year terms: Patti Flesher, Portland Cement Association, Skokie, IL; Rolf Fuessler, The Fuessler Group, Boston, MA; Kim Phelan, executive editor and director of programs, Associated Equipment Distributors, and editor of Construction Equipment magazine, Oak Brook, IL; Rod Sutton, Construction Equipment magazine, Oakbrook, IL; and Tudor Van Hampton, Engineering News Record, Chicago, IL.
