CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Oct 24, 2012) - The Construction Writers Association (CWA) has named Jonathan Antevy, chief executive officer and founder of e-Builder Inc., the recipient of the organization's prestigious Silver Hard Hat award. CWA's highest honor, the Silver Hard Hat award recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions either in service to the construction industry or service to CWA.
"I am privileged to receive this year's Silver Hard Hat Award," said Antevy, a pioneer in fully integrated, cloud-based construction program management software. "It is an honor to be recognized for the dedication and commitment e-Builder has made to the construction industry, by bringing a collaborative communication platform to owner organizations and all members involved with construction projects."
CWA selected Antevy as a recipient of the award based on his service to the construction industry, which began in 1995 with the creation of e-Builder, and all he has done to bring technology and communication to the forefront of the industry. "Jon has done amazing things for the construction industry," said CWA's Silver Hard Hat Committee Chair Judy Schriener, a freelance journalist, radio talk show host and author based in Columbia, Md. "He will be an outstanding addition to our list of previous Silver Hard Hat Award winners."
CWA's Silver Hard Hat Award has been presented since 1969. The award is not necessarily given every year. The award recognizes significant actions and deeds over an extended period, not just the current or past year.
"CWA is very proud to recognize Jon Antevy of e-Builder. We admire his innovative leadership of uniting communication, project management, and technology in our industry," said CWA Executive Director Deborah Hodges.
CWA's 2010 Silver Hard Hat recipient, Ronald D. Worth, CAE, FSMPS, CPSM, chief executive officer of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, will introduce Antevy as the 2012 Silver Hard Hat recipient at CWA's Grand Awards Dinner on Oct. 23 during the 2012 Annual Conference, "CONNECTED," in Crystal City, Va.
Worth noted that Antevy gives back to the nation's top construction schools by providing e-Builder at no charge to students and faculty. "By providing current technologies to students, he has helped increase their value and marketability to employers," Worth said.
Engineering News-Record named Antevy one of the Top 25 newsmakers of the year in 1996. In 1999, his cloud-based construction program management software was selected as one of the Top 125 innovations in the last 125 years by Engineering News-Record. "Jon's success became an enabler for other entrepreneurs within the construction industry to develop innovations that have helped advance the industry," Schriener said.
