Consumer-Generated Advertising Contest Demonstrates Successful Campaign

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA--(Marketwire - July 16, 2007) - Today, consumer-generated advertising (CGA) company XLNTads announced the close of a contest that challenged videographers to create and submit XLNTads video commercials designed to run online. The strong majority of submissions were deemed relevant and brand-safe, and XLNTads now has innovative commercials that can be used immediately in its advertising efforts.

Videographer Andy Gilligan turned out to be the big winner taking home not only the grand prize of $5,000, but also a second-place video editing software prize. XLNTads plans to feature these and several other submitted spots in its advertising efforts throughout the summer and the general availability launch.

To ensure objectivity, the contest was judged by a panel of agency executives and marketing professionals independent of the XLNTads executive team. The judging panel included Dave Batt vice president, marketing, Banfi Vintners, Richard Guest, managing director of Tribal DDB NY, Robin Neifield, chief executive officer of NetPlus Marketing, and Denise Zimmerman, chief strategy officer of NetPlus Marketing.

"Many of the entries we reviewed provide a clear benefits statement for marketers who want to reach and engage their Web-savvy audiences," said Robin Neifield, chief executive officer of NetPlus Marketing and one of the judges of the XLNTads commercial contest. "Without the slickness and the cost of Madison Avenue overproduction, this approach to advertising elegantly mirrors the daily experience of today's consumers and resonates by speaking directly to them, not at them."

XLNTads connects brands with consumers who are passionate about CGA while helping boost the careers of budding amateur and semi-professional videographers and ad creators. Since the contest began in June, XLNTads has grown its ad creator base to nearly 200 members through word-of-mouth and viral initiatives alone. The company hopes to have 500-600 members once the site launches with up to 15 brand-sponsored campaigns.

Through its Creator's Advisory Board, a team of videographer celebrities from YouTube, Revver, MetaCafe and other video sharing sites, and the recent hiring of its community manager Mark Schoneveld, XLNTads is actively involved in the ad creator community. By attracting the best of the best and building a site that appeals to their various motives and passions, XLNTads offers brands access to the best talent on the Internet for participation in CGA campaigns.
