ControlScan Enhances PCI External Vulnerability Scanning Service

New Delivery Model Offers Advanced User-Friendliness, Further Simplifying Businesses' Efforts to Identify and Remediate Payment Security Vulnerabilities for PCI Compliance

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - April 19, 2016) -  TRANSACT 16: Powered by ETA, Booth #1118 -- ControlScan, a security, compliance and risk management partner to hundreds of merchant service providers representing millions of businesses, announced today that it has enhanced its PCI External Vulnerability Scanning service to make it even easier for businesses to eliminate payment security vulnerabilities in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

As a PCI Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) since 2007, ControlScan is known for vulnerability management services that satisfy specific PCI requirements while supporting continuous IT security posture improvement. The ControlScan PCI External Vulnerability Scanning service helps businesses of any size uncover vulnerabilities and prioritize their remediation, as well as determine their true scope of compliance by discovering network-connected devices and the software running on them.

"The newly released PCI External Vulnerability Scanning service involves a completely redesigned delivery model that significantly advances the user experience," said Steve Robb, Senior Vice President of Security Marketing and Product Strategy, ControlScan. "We applied customer feedback, industry best practices and our internal expertise to create a dynamic and intuitive deliverable."

Enhancements to the ControlScan PCI External Vulnerability Scanning service include:

  • Anywhere Anytime Scanning: Responsive design for easy viewing and interaction from any device, including mobile.
  • Improved Scan Management Workflow: Standalone service is decoupled from the ControlScan PCI 1-2-3 solution for improved visibility and control.
  • Multi-Target Scanning: Both IP addresses and domain URLs can be managed and monitored simultaneously.
  • Multi-Location Scanning: Scheduled for a Summer 2016 release, this capability will empower businesses with multiple locations, such as company-owned store chains and franchise businesses, to administer and manage PCI external vulnerability scans across separate locations with independent cardholder data environments.

"We provide multiple technology services to the hospitality industry, one of which is fully managing external vulnerability scans across the various branded properties we support," said Jean-Francois Awenenti, PCIP, Professional Services Manager for Centrada Solutions, LLC. "The new ControlScan PCI External Vulnerability Scanning service makes it exceptionally easy to manage this program for our customers, plus it gives us the critical information we need to help them with their compliance."
