QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 19, 2011) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of Gaspé and Lower St. Lawrence fishers fined in October and November 2011 for violations of the Fisheries Act.
The fines imposed on the offenders total $27,110. In addition, several fishermen had their catches confiscated and forfeited their fishing gear.
