Convictions Under the Fisheries Act, Magdalen Islands


QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 17, 2012) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of fishers from the Magdalen Islands fined in October, 2012 for offences under the Fisheries Act.

The fines imposed on the fishers total $7,450. The offenders are:

Maurice Leblanc
Harvesting softshell clams in a closed area. $300 each
Alfred Poirier Surf clam harvesting in a closed area. $300
Paul Vigneau Being in possession of a female lobster with eggs attached. $2,000
