Convictions Under the Fisheries Act, Magdalen Islands

QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 27, 2014) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of fishermen convicted of various offences and fined under the Fisheries Act in the Magdalen Islands in June, 2014.

The fines imposed on the offenders total $3,300. The offenders are:

Georges Bourque Failure to comply with licence conditions by fishing an unauthorized species. Failure to maintain an accurate logbook of catches. Yellowtail Flounder $3,000 2014-06-18
Gino Cyr Approaching within one-half nautical mile of a person engaged in sealing without a seal fishery observation licence. seal $300 2014-06-18
