Convictions Under the Fisheries Act, Magdalen Islands


QUÉBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 23, 2016) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of Magdalen Islands fishers fined in May and April 2016 for violations of the Fisheries Act.

The fines imposed on the offenders total $2,300. The offenders are:

Christopher Clarke Contravened conditions of lobster fishing licence by starting activities before 5 a.m. lobster $500 2016-04-06
Joseph-Gaston Chiasson Harvesting softshell clams in a closed area. softshell clam $300 2016-04-06
Geoffrey Mckay Failure to file and complete a logbook prior to arrival at the dock. lobster $1,000 2016-04-06
