Convictions Under the Fisheries Act, North Shore


QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 19, 2011) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of North Shore fishers fined in October and November 2011 for violations of the Fisheries Act.

The fines imposed on the offenders total $4,250. The offenders are:

Possession of 26 lobster of less than 83 mm and possession of a pregnant female lobster. $2,000
JR Jeffrey Monger
(Havre-Saint-Pierre)
Failure to weigh entire landed snow crab catch. $750
Julien Marie Stubbert
(Aguanish)
Possession of lobster under the minimum size. $1,000
Samuel Thisnish
(Sept-Îles)
Possession of snow crab of less than 95 mm. $500
