Coop Techno Laser Receives Funding From Government of Canada


SOREL-TRACY, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 9, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the cooperative Coop Techno Laser has been awarded financial assistance to acquire specialized equipment.

"By lending financial support to Coop Techno Laser's project, the Government of Canada is demonstrating its firm commitment to economic growth built in particular on vigorous productivity," said Minister Lebel.

Founded in 2000, Coop Techno Laser offers high-precision laser cutting, folding and assembly services for various types of materials, including metals, composites and plastics. Its client base consists of companies in the transportation, hydroelectricity and environment sectors.

The financial assistance from Canada Economic Development will enable the coop to acquire a laser cutter. This project is part of a comprehensive plan to modernize the Sorel-Tracy plant's equipment.

This $350,000 in repayable funding has been granted under Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
