Corey Boland Joins OpenAire Inc. as Chief Operating Officer

Will focus on manufacturing excellence and international expansion for designer and manufacturer of retractable roofs and operable skylights

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 4, 2014) - OpenAire Inc., the world's premier designer, manufacturer and installer of custom retractable roof enclosures and operable skylights, announced today that Corey Boland has joined its executive team as Chief Operating Officer.

OpenAire is well known for its impressive portfolio of work, which includes New York City's Refinery Hotel rooftop, the Pump House Water Park at Jay Peak in Vermont, the domed Aqua Sferra water park in Donetsk, Ukraine and the iconic Joe's American Bar & Grill in Boston. At home in Ontario, the company has designed custom retractable enclosures for pools at Toronto's Cricket Club and Granite Club, the retractable roof at the popular Gusto101 restaurant downtown, and many private residences in the GTA.

Boland joins OpenAire with a bold and ambitious vision for the Oakville based organization. He intends to continue and broaden OpenAire's success as the world-leader in large-scale, one-of-a-kind, luxury retractable roofs for the waterpark, restaurant, cruise, shopping mall, recreational facility and upscale residential markets. Immediate steps will include enhancements to internal teams and processes, in addition to a focus on expanding the company's global footprint.

OpenAire has already numerous completed projects in North America, Europe and Africa, Boland believes there are a growing number of opportunities in the Middle East and Asia too. "The sky is the limit for OpenAire's international expansion plans, particularly in countries like Russia and the UAE," Boland says. Referring to his immediate priorities, he says, "I will focus on developing an extremely disciplined internal approach to new design technology and will nurture a culture of continuous improvement. Our team is already tremendously talented, and I intend to strengthen it even further through some strategic hires."

Boland came to OpenAire from CompX CFC, a leading designer of custom motion control hardware components. His tenure at CompX spanned 11 years, and for the latter 5 years he held the post of President, where he was responsible for the P&L of CFC facilities in Canada, the US and Asia. His career began at General Electric, where he finished first in his class in the GE Field Engineering Program. Building on the excellent business training he received at GE, Mr. Boland also completed an Executive Education course at The Chicago School of Business. Boland is a licenced professional engineer who holds a B. Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Lakehead University.

Mark Albertine, CEO of OpenAire, is thrilled to have a seasoned professional with so much relevant experience join OpenAire's executive team. "Corey has an extensive background in senior operations management as well as in leading innovative design teams in custom manufacturing environments," he says. "We are confident he will create company-wide improvements in both efficiency and productivity, and will help us to cement our global reputation as the single source of the most reliable, sophisticated, custom retractable roof enclosures and skylights."
