Corner Social Celebrates 1st Anniversary in Harlem

Introduces New Menu Items & Entertainment as a Toast to Partners, Patrons

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 21, 2013) -  Corner Social Restaurant (, Harlem's hottest hang out on the corner of 126th and Lenox Ave, celebrates its first anniversary by expanding its sidewalk café and announcing tasty seasonal additions to Executive Chef, Jonathan Romans' acclaimed menu and a sizzling line up of summer entertainment: Latin Nights every Wednesday night throughout the summer, featuring live music ranging from Afro-Cuban to Salsa, Latin-themed specialty drinks from $10-$14 and no cover charge at the door. The introduction of Latin Night bolsters Corner Social's already famous "Harlem Social Club" daytime brunch parties, comedy nights, which are held in partnership with Paul Mooney Productions and SOCA Sunday parties.

Along with fan club favorites such as luscious jumbo lump crab cakes, to-die-for cheeseburger spring rolls and the Social Burger, Corner Social also welcomes new additions to the menu ( First up, a new spice and heat combo -- organic chicken breast marinated with jerk spices, grilled and finished with melted cheddar and served on French baguette with a roasted garlic aioli. Freshly sliced and fried plantain chips are served on the side. In addition, Executive Chef Jonathan Romans is staying true to his commitment to cook up unique and seasonal mouthwatering creations: this summer's choice will be a market-fresh, juicy seafood entrée special, selected daily, and accompanied by locally sourced, seasonal and crisp garden vegetables.

Corner Social owner and Harlem Resident Anahi Angelone's vision was to create an inviting place where Harlem's diverse group of residents could gather for every type of occasion, whether enjoying a delicious meal with friends, or sipping on a cocktail while watching the game, or soaking up the atmosphere over brunch. In its first year, Corner Social ( became a favorite among celebrities, neighborhood chefs and restaurateurs, locals and media alike for its scrumptious and affordable menu (most entrees under $20), its comfortable vibe, late night kitchen, and large open bar area and outdoor dining. Known for its welcoming and relaxed feel with great beats and tempting menu, the restaurant is now also known for the large, bold mural depicting Harlem's history and celebrating its rich culture and heritage which adorns the restaurant's outdoor corner of 126th an Lenox.

During its first year, Corner Social was lauded by critics -- one of Zagat's "must try patties in NYC," Uptown Magazine's "Best Bar" -- and has become a Sunday brunch hot spot (no reservations accepted for Brunch).

While the restaurant itself has been blossoming, so has the restaurant's catering division through its commitment to charity, local partners and New York City. Over the past year, Corner Social has been invited as a partner, catered or donated to the following organizations: Donaldson Adoption Institute "taste of spring," NYC Teachers Luncheon at the Schomberg Library, Lilly Pulitzer Social Promises Fundraiser, Guest Chef at Conde Nast Cafeteria, Angels Envy NYC Bourbon Launch Party at Bloomingdales Rooftop, Art In Flux, Mama Foundation, Harlem Grown, St Martin's Church, Boys and Girls Harbor Charter school, Love Letter to our Mothers Mural Project and The National Society for the Gifted and Talented.
