Corona Uses SeeClickFix -- A New Way to Communicate with City Hall

CORONA, CA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2010) -  For Corona residents and businesses, enhanced quality of life is just a simple click away.

Corona is the first city in the Inland region of Southern California and one of only 10 in the nation to use photos taken by smart phones to more efficiently communicate citizen concerns to city hall.

"They simply take out their smart phone and snap a picture," Corona Redevelopment Agency Director Darrell Talbert said. "Once it arrives in City Hall, it turns into a work order and is electronically delivered to crews in the field."

The instant communication is made possible by SeeClickFix, a mobile application that can be used on any Blackberry, Android or iPhone.

When the problem is resolved, the reporting community member receives an email from the City via SeeClickFix letting them know that the issue has been "fixed."

Bernice Garcia likes it. " this amazing new way of improving the quality of our community!" she writes on the SeeClickFix web site at, after trash cans painted with graffiti on Village Loop Drive were repainted.

The service is less than a month old but the city has already received more than 50 requests for service via SeeClickFix in the first two weeks, Talbert said.

Smart phone reports range from dead trees and unsightly yards to broken sprinklers, illegal dumping broken street lights and graffiti.

Talbert sees the service as another way to empower citizens and businesses to better communicate with City Hall and for everyone to take more pride in their community. "It's a perfect use of technology," he said.

Talbert views SeeClickFix as a way to make city government more efficient and enhance municipal services at a time when many communities are having to cut back because of budgetary pressures.

Corona is a city of 150,000 strategically located in the Inland region of Southern California that is committed to the success of its growing and diverse business community and the well being of its residents. For more information call Judi Staats (951) 739-4946 or go to:
