Corporate Chef of Executive Hotels & Resorts Awarded BCCA's Chef of the Year

Corporate Chef Boban Kovachevich, of Executive Hotels & Resorts, was recently honoured with the award, "Chef of the Year" by the BC Chef's Association (BCCA). Every year, the BC Chef's Association (BCCA) makes a point of recognizing excellence among its members. This award recognizes the chef who had done exceptional work in mentoring and culinary direction, for the association over the whole period of one year.

"I am extremely grateful for all the support from my Executive Hotel team members and fellow members of BCCA. I could never have done it without them," said Chef Boban. "While working at Executive Hotels & Resorts, I've had the unique opportunity to help open new restaurants, manage several different dining venues, develop various menus and train our staffs. Sometimes the job is stressful and tough, but the support I received was breathtaking and kept me going. Today, I accept this award, but the meaning that it symbolizes will be shared with all the supporters who were there for me."

As corporate chef, Boban currently oversees many of the most important restaurants and lounges at Executive Hotels & Resorts and all staff members including chef de cuisines, sous chefs and cooks in addition to several casual eateries, as well as special events catering. While at Executive Hotels & Resorts, he also played an instrumental role in the development of the menus and concepts of the hotel's Tivoli's, Copper Club, La Vallée and Carver's steakhouse restaurant.

Throughout Chef Boban's career in BC province, he has continued to set the standard by impressing guests with his culinary creations, and inspiring his staff. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors for BC Chef's Association and had also received the BC Chef's Association Recognition Award in 2009, and the 'Grand Prize Best Appetizer' in the 2010 Healthy Chef Competition.
