Corporate Executives Turn to Triple-S Invitational for Adrenalin-Infused Stress Relief

Venyu's CEO Sponsors World's Largest Kiteboarding Event

BATON ROUGE, LA--(Marketwired - May 30, 2013) -  Seeking relief from the extreme pressures brought on by assuming corporate chief officer responsibilities, "C-Suite" executives are turning to the thrill and danger of kiteboarding a.k.a. kitesurfing. Riding the adrenalin wave and ensuring the sport is well funded, Venyu's Chief Executive Officer, Scott Thompson sponsors the 2013 Triple-S Invitational.

Held in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina from June 1st to June 7th, the 2013 Triple-S Invitational is billed as the "biggest and best professional kiteboarding event in the world." High-income, corporate executives have been making a pilgrimage to the event, drawn by its danger, beauty and full-body workout.

"Whether it's serious danger or just the knowledge that a lapse in judgment can have unfortunate results, the sports I'm drawn to need to give me some sense of accomplishment high," said Pete Massaro, CTO Protedyne. "Kiteboarding has every level of adrenaline rush you can imagine. From conquering double overhead waves in 50 mph winds to cruising on butter-flat water in some beautiful tropical bay at sunset."

"It's the fitness, attitude, patience, and the ability to laugh at yourself that draws me to the sport," said Jason Weisberg, Managing Director at Seaport Securities, CEO of Advitam Sports, NYSE Trader and regular on-air financial expert.

Originating out of Hawaii in the mid-1990s, kiteboarding combines wakeboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding and gymnastics into one extreme sport. Riders literally harness themselves to the wind with a large controllable power kite and propelled across the water on a kiteboard, similar to a small surfboard, at speeds approaching 70 miles per hour, while hurling themselves in excess of 60 feet in the air.

Cromwell Coulson, CEO OTC Markets Group, says he enjoys the mix of water, wind and speed. "It fits into my love of the outdoors and all forms of water: sailing, skiing, stand up paddling and many other activities."

In 2012, the number of kiteboarders has been estimated by the ISAF and IKA at 1.5 million persons worldwide. The quickly growing group of kiteboarders is forming a unique social network always willing to help fellow "kiters."

"The difficulty and danger of self launching and landing drives kiters to help each other," Massaro added. "A competent kiter can walk onto any kite beach and expect help and guidance; the only thing better than scoring an awesome session is having a bunch of buddies there to share the experience."

Helping provide an atmosphere of learning and competition, fellow kiter and Venyu's CEO, Scott Thompson is sponsoring the 2013 Triple-S Invitational.

"I've always had a passion for extreme sports and kiteboarding falls right into that category," Thompson said. "It's a pleasure to provide a portion of the funds to help my fellow kiters display their skills in a friendly, competitive environment."
