CORRECTION FROM SOURCE: Brookfield to Issue C$350 Million of Senior Notes

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 20, 2010) - The following corrects and replaces the release issued on Oct. 20, 2010 at 3:30 pm ET. In the first paragraph, the maturity date should read March 1, 2021, instead of October 2020. The complete and corrected release follows.


Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (TSX:BAM.A)(NYSE:BAM)(EURONEXT:BAMA) announced today an offering of C$350 million of senior notes (unsecured) ("notes") with a March 1, 2021 maturity and a yield of 5.3%.

The notes have been assigned a credit rating of Baa2 (stable outlook) by Moody's; A- (negative outlook) by Standard & Poor's; BBB (stable outlook) by Fitch; and A low (stable outlook) by DBRS.

The notes are being offered through a syndicate of agents led by CIBC World Markets Inc., RBC Capital Markets and TD Securities Inc.

The net proceeds of the issue will be used to refinance existing indebtedness and for general corporate purposes.
