CORRECTION FROM SOURCE/Media Advisory: Canadian Troops Return Home from Afghanistan

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - Jan. 20, 2014) -

This document corrects and replaces the media advisory that was sent January 20th, 2014 at 18:46 ET.

Media are invited for the return of soldiers serving in Afghanistan to 17 Wing Winnipeg on January 20, 2014.

The soldiers will be landing in Canada after several months serving on Canada's final commitment to Operation ATTENTION, Canada's contribution to the International Assistance Force / NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan.

Parliamentary Secretary James Bezan, Member of Parliament for Selkirk-Interlake, will be present to welcome the troops home as they disembark.

When: January 20, 2014, 2:50 p.m.
Where: 17 Wing Winnipeg. (Attending media are asked to arrive at the main gate on Wihuri road no later than 2:20 p.m. so they can be escorted to the event)
What: Canadian soldiers returning home after serving in Afghanistan, greeted by MP James Bezan as they step off the plane.

Operation ATTENTION is Canada's participation in the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, which delivers training and professional development support to the national security forces of Afghanistan: the Afghan National Army, the Afghan Air Force, and the Afghan National Police.
