OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 25, 2011) -

A correction from source is being issued with respect to the media advisory sent out on April 21 at 3:37 pm EDT. The corrected version follows.

The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC), in partnership with the University of Ottawa, will host a debate on Tuesday April 26, 2011, entitled Election 2011: the Future of Public Services from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Marion Hall at the University of Ottawa. Representatives of the five major federal parties (the Conservative Party of Canada, the Liberal Party of Canada, the New Democratic Party, the Bloc Québecois and the Green Party of Canada) will be present.

Media are invited to attend and the candidates will be available for questions after the debate.

Theme: Election 2011 - The Future of Public Services

Participants: The Conservative Party of Canada will be represented by Pierre Poilievre, Parliamentary Secretary to Prime Minister Harper and MP for Nepean-Carleton. The Liberal Party will be represented by Mauril Bélanger, Vice Chair of the National Policy and Platform Committee of Liberal Party of Canada and MP for Ottawa Vanier. The New Democratic Party will be represented by Paul Dewar, Foreign Affairs Critic, NDP and MP Ottawa Centre and the Green Party by Jean-Luc Cooke, Green Party of Canada Candidate for Nepean Carleton. The Bloc Québecois did not have a representative available.

The debate will be moderated by Don Newman, one of Canada's most eminent political journalists and the Chairman of Canada 2020, a non-partisan forum dedicated to the social and economic well-being of Canadians
