Windsor anti-poverty activists will be joined by workers from across the province for a huge anti-poverty rally tomorrow in Riverfront Festival Plaza at noon.
The rally is being organized by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario, the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) and other partners in the Raise the Rates campaign to highlight the growing problem of poverty in our community and our province.
The Raise the Rates campaign is calling on the provincial government to:
CUPE Ontario members from every corner of the province are holding their annual Convention across the street and will march to Riverfront Festival Plaza, where they will join local anti-poverty and labour activists.
CUPE is Ontario's community union, with members providing quality public services we all rely on in every part of the province every day. CUPE Ontario members are proud to work in social services, health care, municipalities, school boards, universities and airlines.
