...and Announce Enhanced Support for Canadian Forces Ill and Injured Personnel

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 25, 2011) - PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TIME FOR THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED.

Media are invited to attend the unveiling of Canada's first CAREN rehabilitation virtual reality simulator designated for patient use. The Rehabilitation Virtual Reality Laboratory, which houses the simulator, will be officially opened at The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre (TOHRC), thanks to a partnership between The Ottawa Hospital and the Canadian Forces (CF).

The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, will also announce significant policy changes affecting the management of ill and injured military personnel.

The simulator will give patients, including injured CF personnel and civilians, highly specialized treatment for both physical and psychological injuries.

There will be demonstrations of the virtual reality simulator to give guests and members of the media a rare opportunity to see the system in operation.
