CORRECTION FROM SOURCE-Media Advisory: Something New at the TTC! New Token to Make Official Debut

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 16, 2006) - The following corrects and replaces the release sent at 1201 ET on Nov. 16, 2006. There is a revision in the second paragrpah. The complete and corrected release follows.

The Toronto Transit Commission is introducing a brand new, two colour token. A special unveiling ceremony will take place on Monday, November 20th, at 2:30 p.m. at Toronto City Hall, in Committee Room 3.

The new token is designed with the latest in technology, making it next to impossible to re-produce. Over the past two years, the TTC has lost approximately $10 million from the sale of counterfeit tokens.

The TTC has ordered 20 million new tokens at a cost of $1.7 million.
