CORRECTION FROM SOURCE: Midway Makes Depths of Intercept Corrections for December 5 Press Release for Spring Valley Project, Nevada

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 8, 2006) - Midway Gold Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:MDW) announces corrections to the reported depths of intercepts announced in the December 5, 2006 Press Release for the Spring Valley project. The results of the corrections show the gold intercepts are shallower than previously reported.

The corrections are due to a conversion rounding error in the From, To, and Depth columns for all the drill holes. In addition, the correct depth of the intercept in Hole LM06-05 is from 3 to 9.1 meter depth.

The corrected depths are shown in the tables below. Refer to the December 5, 2006 News Release for discussion of these results.

Reverse circulation drilling was conducted by O'Keefe Drilling of Butte, Montana and Layne Christensen of Chandler, Arizona. Drill holes with a (c) suffix are diamond HQ core holes, which were drilled by Kirkness Drilling of Carson City, Nevada. The holes were assayed by 30 gram fire assays (denoted as FA) by ALS-Chemex labs, in Sparks, Nevada. In zones with gold or obvious veining, intense silicification, or noted with visible gold, check assays of 1000 gram metallic screen fire assays (denoted as MS assay type) are conducted at ALS-Chemex. All the sampling was conducted by independent contractors hired by Midway Gold Corporation. True widths are shown if known.
