6 short months ago PetroFeed brought the power of mobile to Canada's Oil Patch. The Petrofeed app, for people working in the oil and gas industry is exploding through out the oil field.
As of August 23 2014, the Petrofeed app officially became the #1 most downloaded business app in Canada.
"We are extremely proud of what the company, and team have accomplished in such a short period of time,"
"The application enables anyone to see all current drilling rig locations, statuses and operators across Canada in a map view. PetroFeed is making that information available in real time, for everyone, for free, on their mobile device. Until now that information was very difficult, time intensive and expensive to get. Our belief is that everyone in the industry should be able to see what is happening, where it is happening and be able to connect to the people, rigs, and wells involved." said Ashley Dunfield, CEO & Founder of PetroFeed.
"PetroFeed is at the forefront of change that is thrusting the oil and gas industry into an era of a digitally connected, mobile workforce. This change will bring a giant leap forward in efficiency and competitiveness for the entire industry, making an already world class industry even better for Canada, said Troy Bilon, Director of Strategy and Industry Expert for Petrofeed.
In the app, users can view all drilling rigs currently operating in Canada and easily find out which operator the rig is working for, what it is doing, as well as the rig's previous wells drilled and history. The information can be filtered based on geographic area, the rig contractor, current status (drilling, moving, or down) and well path type (vertical, horizontal or deviated), and operator.
"Mobile technology will bring a new era of efficiency and change how the industry does business." said Dunfield "Making rig information universally available is an important first step towards enabling the mobile revolution".
PetroFeed is aiming to add major features to the app at least once a month.

ABOUT THE APP
The app was originally released in Feb 2014 and is under constant development with new versions being released frequently. Currently the application enables anyone to see all current rig locations and statuses across Canada. Now anyone can easily see in a map view and even follow rigs, which gives them notifications when the rig moves or changes status.
Rig crews have some additional features. A crew member can connect to a rig. After they verify their company and position, their work history is tracked in the system and they are connected to a private network with their other crew members. They can choose to make their work history public which gives them visibility and credibility in what is already a very hot employment market.
Our goal with the app for our first phase is to provide universal accessibility to the people, wells, companies and equipment in the industry. Stay tuned for more ground breaking releases.
